Riding Sessions
Volunteers lead for and side-walk next to the rider, depending on the rider’s level of independence and confidence. Depending on the length of the lesson, the client may or may not be involved in the grooming and tacking process. Even with brief sessions, the clients are still encouraged to form connections with their horses by giving them pats and encouragement and petting them afterward to thank them for the lesson.

Non-Riding Session
For clients that are not able to ride or do not wish to ride the horses we offer non-riding sessions. We set up specific activities. Just working with the horses, because of their size is a confidence builder with youth and adults alike. These sessions take place on the ground, there is no riding involved.

Client Site Visits
For clients that are not able mobile we offer site visits with therapy dogs and mini horses. We visit all age groups, young to old, with all types of disabilities and needs. Hospitals, Schools, Libraries, Nursing Homes, VA Hospitals and more. We have volunteers that help with our visits and are always working on new programs to expand our reach.
Service Dogs for Veterans
We are starting a program to train and place trained service dogs with veterans suffering from PTSD at no cost to the veteran. Training process is approximately 2 years. Trainers will train the dogs to preform over 90 commands such as turning on lights, anxiety alerts, opening and closing doors, object retrieval, general protection and many more. These service dogs will assist their veteran partner with needed duties but also with the healing process, providing constant companionship that supports the journey to recovery and just a better and safer day to day life. Service dogs can help with re-integration, socialization, recognition of anxiety or distress, interrupt nightmares/night terrors & increased confidence & ability. There are many emotional benefits of having a service dog. They make great companions, can bring out feelings of love and can help to reduce stress.
